What peopleask first
These are the notes that arrive before anyone has been paid. They are questions, not reviews. I will add a person’s words here only after a client has paid and that person agrees to be named.
01
I am not a developer. Does that rule me out?
No. The seat is for someone who likes talking to business owners. I do the technical work, and I am on the scoping call so you are never explaining the build alone.
02
Is this a job?
It is not. There is no salary and no base. You are an independent contractor, paid a share when a client pays me. If you need a paycheck this month, this is the wrong fit.
03
When would I actually receive money?
Within a week of the client payment clearing. Nothing is owed on a proposal, a meeting, or an introduction that never becomes a paid invoice. The first deal usually takes two to three months.
04
Do I have to open accounts or use my name on a platform?
No. You do not open marketplace accounts for me, and you do not pretend to be the developer. I send the proposal, I sign the contract, and the client pays me.
05
What if the client I introduce never pays?
Then you are paid nothing for that introduction. The share is on money received. If they pay later, the share is paid then, on the terms we signed before the proposal went out.
06
Can this become a real partnership, not just a commission?
Only after three separate clients have paid in full, and only in a document a lawyer writes. I will not promise a slice of a company in a first conversation.
