What the seat actually is
A commercial partner is not a hired closer, and not a person lending their name to an account.
I build custom web apps and internal tools for small businesses. The work is ordinary in the best way: replacing a spreadsheet a team is tired of emailing around, or giving a small company a system its staff will actually use.
I am good at the build. I am looking for one person who is good at the room. You find business owners, you stay in the relationship, and you tell them the truth about timing. I join the calls, scope the work, write the proposal, and send the invoice.
You do not have to be a developer. You do not explain the technical plan on your own. And you do not open an Upwork, Fiverr, or any other account for me to use. The contract and the invoice stay in my name.
If that sounds like a job with a salary, it is not. Pay is a share of money a client actually pays. The first deal usually takes two or three months. Some people close nothing. I would rather say that on the first page than dress it up.
